This Ethiopian gem is a must-visit for anyone eager to explore vibrant flavors and hearty dishes that are deeply rooted in tradition and community.

The atmosphere at Fasika is warm and inviting, ideal for both novices and seasoned lovers of Ethiopian cuisine. As you step inside, you’re greeted by a cozy ambience that instantly makes you feel at home, enhanced by friendly staff whose attentive service is highlighted in many glowing reviews. The moment you settle in, your taste buds are treated to an array of beautifully presented dishes served on bulky, tangy injera—Ethiopia’s beloved sourdough flatbread that doubles as both plate and utensil!

Signature dishes such as the tender chicken tibs and the rich, satisfying shiro are standout favorites praised by guests. Each dish is a testament to the art of Ethiopian cooking, meticulously prepared with fresh ingredients and an expert balance of spices that will awaken your palate. Diners rave about the vegetarian platter, which showcases an assortment of lentils, stewed vegetables, and the enticing flavors of spicy lamb and beef dishes, all beautifully layered across the injera.

From the very first bite, you’ll appreciate the culture of eating with your hands, creating a more intimate experience as you scoop up the flavorful stews and sides with the soft injera. Customer Miroshi described their first experience wonderfully, stating they were “blown away,” while Johan Wang shared how the thoughtful service, including an offer of extra injera despite being full, made their evening feel even more special.

Don’t just take our word for it; the praise extends far and wide, with Michail Kosak noting that “if you want to try something new and exciting, visit Fasika.” Whether you’re a veteran of Ethiopian cuisine or trying something fresh, the culinary delights and engaging atmosphere will surely have you planning your return visit before your meal is even finished.

My friend an I just fell in love with the food. It was once again one of the best dinner experiences ever, never disappointed with Ethiopian food. The service was really attentive, towards the end of the main dish, they came with extra injera. Although we were full, it was just that attention that made the night more wholesome and cared for. The portion looked perfect initially, but the more we ate the more it looked endless (nothing to complain about), so I can safely say that the price is all worth it. Absolutely suggested.

Hidden gem in Cologne my first time trying Ethiopian food and I’m absolutely blown away. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Our waiter was super friendly and took the time to explain everything to us. The food is served on injera, a slightly sour flatbread that pairs beautifully with all the dishes. The chicken was incredibly tender, and both the lamb and beef melted in your mouth – barely needed to chew. Even the feta cheese was full of flavor and perfectly balanced the plate. This was definitely not my last Ethiopian food experience – and especially not my last visit here. 5 stars all the way!

We ate here during our trip to Köln. We had never tried Ethiopian food before and thought it would be a good idea to try something new. We were so impressed with how delicious everything was! Both the vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes were full of flavor and really tasty. The waiter was friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome and making sure everything was in order. Big thanks to Fasika’s team for a lovely evening and a great experience. We’d definitely recommend it!

First time eating Ethiopian food. We went there with a couple of friends and we all were astonished by the great taste. A bit spicy but not too much, so gave the food a nice hot flavor. Eating with hands was something new for me and you definietly feel the food in a different way then using your hands. If you want to try something new exciting visit Fasika. Price is not to expensive, around 15 to 20 € per person.

This is hands down the BEST Ethiopian restaurant I’ve ever been to. I went for the vegetarian option with shiro, and it was absolutely amazing. The flavors were rich, comforting, and perfectly spiced. The injera was soft and fresh, and every item on the platter was delicious in its own way. The shiro especially stood out—creamy, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. You can tell everything is made with love and tradition. The service was warm and welcoming, and the vibe of the place was relaxed and cozy. On top of all that, the prices were fair and the portions generous. Great food, great value. If you love Ethiopian cuisine—or are curious to try it—this spot is a must.

Okayish food, prices are a bit higher than the online menu. We ordered the mixed platter for two and two Ghana beers (banana and passion fruit). We went at 6pm, only one other table was occupied but a lot of people arrived at 7pm, so if you plan to be there at 7, it is better to book in advance.
